After seven years of incredible success in Worcester and a successful launch into Malvern, Evesham and Pershore, we are delighted to announce that our JOY project, which re-empowers women to take control of their wellness and gain the confidence to engage in new opportunities, will now be on offer for female and female identifying clients in Redditch, Kidderminster and Bromsgrove.

This is following a successful bid for funding from Worcestershire County Council and Public Health.

JoRae, JOY Project Manager has been working on the project for a number of years.

“Women are referred into the JOY project for a wide range of reasons, perhaps they have a background of domestic abuse or have been through a life event that has caused them to lose confidence. We are here to support women to learn new skills, develop friendships and a support network, develop independence and raise aspirations for their future.

“We have a new team of incredibly experienced and supportive project workers and community mentors who will be running the programme in North Worcestershire. They are extremely passionate about supporting women in the local community and they bring with them a wealth of experiences and knowledge that will enable them to support any woman through their own journey, whatever that looks like.

“We will be holding coffee drop ins as well as a range of creative and holistic activities and are looking forward to developing a programme that meets the needs of new clients in North Worcestershire.”

The Trust is holding launch events to give professionals and the local community the opportunity to learn more about JOY and how the project can support women in each local community. These are being held at The Old Needleworks in Redditch on Monday 9th November from 10.30am to 12.00pm, at Kidderminster & District Youth Trust (KDYT) on Tuesday 10th October from 10.30am to 12.00pm and at The POD in Bromsgrove on Wednesday 11th October from 10.30am to 12.00pm. Tea and cake will be served. To book your place email joy@worcestercommunitytrust.org.uk.

Following the launch events, a weekly programme of activities and support focused on health and wellbeing will be taking place at the same venues on the same days for women to attend.
