Funding uncertain for inspiring domestic abuse service despite receiving remarkable impact report.
The DAWN Project Evaluation
Worcester Community Trust is extremely proud of the incredibly positive findings from our independent evaluation of The DAWN Project, community based domestic abuse support services, carried out by Becky White and Sally Howells from Supporting Justice CIC.
They received a fantastic response to the survey from both professional stakeholders and former service users. In an era where we are all surveyed-out, the extent and detail of the responses was remarkable.
This included the phenomenal 100% positive response from service users to the statement ‘I was treated with respect by all DAWN Project staff’.
Evaluation conclusion:
“The DAWN Project is an excellent service which provides consistently high-quality support to service users. They are professional whilst maintaining an obvious empathy and compassion for their service users. They are deservingly held in high regard by service users and professionals.”
Quotes:
“This report highlights the incredible impact that the Dawn service has on people’s lives and transformative power of community-based service like this. A huge amount of praise for the hard work and commitment of both the Worcester Community Trust staff and the people who engage in the Dawn service.” Jon Newey – Worcester Community Trust CEO.
‘Worcester Community Trust has sadly recognised the need for the Dawn Project service for many years, however this review validates that the service provided is of a high quality, ensuring it not only meets demand but is also effective. Credit sits firmly with the dedicated and highly committed staff. This report shows the importance of ensuring that the funding continues beyond March 2025.’ Bridget Brickley – Worcester Community Trust Chair Board of Trustees
Becky White, Director of Impact with Supporting Justice CIC, comments “It’s such a brilliant experience to evaluate a service that provides impactful support to victims and survivors. One of those times when you really enjoy your job!”
DAWN funding comes to an end in March 2025, and the team is working hard to seek new funding opportunities to offer continuity of this service beyond this date.
