The Power of Coming Together at Our Staff Conference 2024
In the fast-paced world of work, it’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind and overlook the remarkable achievements and progress we make as a Charity. Our annual Staff Conference is of vital importance as it brings us all together to celebrate collective successes, share ideas or concerns and helps us look towards a productive future.
Reconnection
It was wonderful to see colleagues who work within different services, some of whom hadn’t seen each other in person for months, catching up. This physical reconnection is vital; it reminds us that behind every email and phone call, there are real people who share a common purpose and commitment.

The conference kicked off with a keynote address from CEO, Jonathan Newey, who shared the year’s progress and took everyone on a journey into the future of Worcester Community Trust.
A highlight of the conference was the contributions from the individual service Project Managers who shared their team’s achievements and exciting updates about their services. Short films were shared highlighting the positive impacts made on the communities they work with.
Head of Community Services, Jenny Gage, talked everyone through the powerful concept of Asset Based Community Development and the key practices which need to be adopted to truly empower our surrounding communities.
Beyond the formal sessions, some of the most meaningful interactions happened during informal gatherings; Many open discussions took place, feedback was listened to, a fun quiz lifted spirits and a wonderful lunch was served by our very own Snack & Chat Manager, Sharon. The cakes went down particularly well!
As the conference drew to a close, staff were left with a clearer vision of the Worcester Community Trust goals and objectives for the upcoming year and a deeper appreciation for the journey we’ve shared.
Our staff conference was more than just an event; it was a celebration of our collective efforts and a testament to what we can achieve together. As we return to our daily routines, we carry with us the knowledge and the strengthened bonds that will motivate us to continue to support the communities we serve.
In the end, it’s not just about the successes we celebrate, but about the way we come together as a team to achieve them. And that is something to be proud of.
