Strictly Worcestershire is an event run by Worcestershire Ambassadors raising funds for local Charities.
As you might guess, it is based on the hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing but with a big difference – all of the contestants are local people who have volunteered to take part.
The contestants train for several months before the main event at the stunning Chateau Impney near Droitwich which is taking place on Thursday 23rd May.
This year Worcester Community Trust are supporting one pair of contestants, Grace Walton and Jack Tingle by allowing them to train at The Warndon Community Hub for one of their weekly training nights. They are currently training extremely hard with three sessions per week, one of which is with their dance coach. Having got past the initial few weeks of practise we recently caught up with them at one of their training sessions.
Grace said, “We are really enjoying rehearsing in the space provided by Worcestershire Community Trust and fortunate to have this time to develop our routine. We have been training since October and with neither of us having had any previous dance experience, it is pretty full on, even more so with two dance routines to learn!!”
As well as taking part in the event, Jack & Grace are raising funds for Headway Worcestershire, which is a Charity based in Worcester supporting people affected by acquired brain injury. If you would like to support Jack & Grace please visit their Just Giving Page
Worcestershire Ambassadors are a group of individuals who share in a common passion for the county of Worcestershire with members coming from across the county.
