241 older people, Six locations, Three Choirs and One Father Christmas.

It’s been a hectic 10 days for Sharon our Snack & Chat organiser with Christmas lunch events serving 241 older people at six locations in Worcester. Our first lunch was hosted by The Mayor of Worcester Jabbar Riaz in the fabulous Assembly Room at The Guildhall with 81 people attending.

STARS an Adult Day Care Centre based downstairs at The Horizon Hub came along to our Horizon Lunch and everyone was treated to a special performance by children from Stanley Road Primary School as well as the three course meal.

Children from Perrywood School came along to sing at the Lunch we ran for residents of Chelmsford Court Sheltered Housing and they also made a second appearance at the Ronkswood Hub Lunch which was supported by staff from Co-op Travel who volunteered to help with the event.

The lunches were also held at The Green Hub in Dines Green and the Tolly Hub in Tolladine, where children from Hollymount School gave a wonderful performance of Christmas songs.

We have been able to run the lunches with support from The Mayor of Worcester, Tesco, Bookers Cash and Carry, Vandermoortele in Broadheath, Fortis Living and The Co-op and of course Father Christmas who attended all of the events.

Snack and Chat run on a weekly and fortnightly basis throughout the year – For further information on times and locations please visit the Snack & Chat page
