Hello and a Happy New Year to all the Worcester Community Family, staff and visitors.  Just prior to Christmas I joined the Trust as a new Job Coach, working alongside Julia on the Building Better Opportunities (BBO) project. What a wonderful and action packed first week I had – getting stuck in with Tea with Santa parties, Christmas breakfasts and parties for JOY and Community Connectors, it was a fantastic way to see some of the other projects at work and I had such a warm welcome from all the staff!

I’m so glad to be involved with the Trust and BBO in 2019. I’m passionate about supporting local communities, so working for an organisation that puts this at the heart of what they do in my own home town is something I’m really proud to be part of.  I’m bowled over by the amount of work that goes on!

I have worked with individuals looking for employment and facing additional barriers, for the last 10 years, as part of a national organisation and have specialised in supporting those with long term health conditions, disabilities or mental health needs.  This can include dyslexia, autism, muscular conditions, anxiety, depression, learning disabilities etc…

As part of the BBO team I’ll be working across the 6 centres providing advice, guidance and support to anyone looking to access employment, training or even just to build their confidence and skills around looking for work.

We can support individuals with addressing barriers such as childcare, homelessness, financial difficulties, basic skills, careers discussions and aim to build confidence in taking those first steps.  I’m looking forward to spending time with everyone across the Trust, learning about the amazing work that’s done – please do grab me and Julia for a chat about the support available when you see us!
