Well, it’s been just over three months since I started at Worcester Community Trust as The Job Coach and after a few weeks training it has been go, go, go meeting new clients and looking for people to support. To be honest I have been inundated with clients and working very closely with Peter and Iris at The Building Block, Building Skills Centre which is located at the back of The Warndon Community Hub. We have supported several people through their training to get them their CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme). This has meant they have been able to apply for jobs on construction sites. To date we have managed to get three people into work.

Other referrals have been people that I have met at the six Community Hubs and I have supported them with training courses, debts, CV’s, application forms and even got one person a concessionary bus pass! I particularly enjoy taking clients to The Breakfast Club which runs every Friday morning at The Ronkswood Hub (The Sausage and Bacon Sandwich is always a bonus!)

I have really enjoyed the first few months, I have kept very busy, met lots of great people and been able to get the project up and running ready for all the clients that need support over the next few years. It’s been fantastic to see the various activities and community spirit in the Hubs, it really is a part of Worcester to be proud of.

Remember, if  you know anyone or if you’re looking for work and need support, give me a shout!
