We are looking for a Business Development Manager.

This is a crucial and exciting post within Worcester Community Trust. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic professional, able to use their expertise, strategic knowledge and business development skills to effect change for people facing social exclusion and deprivation. You will oversee income generation through both partnerships, commercial development, grants fundraising, events and social enterprise.

You will be an excellent oral and written communicator, able to write promptly and persuasively for a variety of audiences, notably for both grant proposals and commercial bids. You will also enjoy building working relationships with donors, clients, partners and, of course, across the team.

The role can be fast paced: you will be motivated by and respond well to deadlines. In return, you will have autonomy, a varied working week and real opportunity to shape Worcester Community Trusts direction and to contribute to its ongoing sustainability.

About The Building Block

The Building Block is a purpose built construction training facility located on Shap Drive in Warndon. The centre has been running since 2015 and since then has been delivering a range of both DIY and accredited training courses to the local community. The Building Block is an approved centre, delivering accredited electrical training under LCL Awards and accredited construction skills training under City and Guilds. 

We are now looking to recruit an electrical IQA/IV, working on an ad hoc basis, to support the delivery of EESI and DEI qualifications through our awarding body of LCL. We are currently delivering 5-6 Essential Electrics courses and 4-5 Domestic Electrical Installer courses per year. 

Role responsibilities

  • To perform Internal Quality Assurance/Internal Verification duties for both electrical training courses on offer at the centre

The person & qualifications

  • Level 3 Electrical NVQ Qualification
  • Recognised IQA/IV qualification
