£10 per hour, 3 hours per week

DAWN

DAWN delivers tailor-made crisis intervention and face to face support around domestic abuse including controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading and violent behaviour.

The Role

We are looking for a trained Freedom Programme Facilitator to facilitate weekly face to face sessions for our service users at one of our Community Hubs. The right candidate will be able to develop positive relationships within the small group, supporting service users emotionally and building trust by ensuring the training is conducted in a safe, confidential space, allowing for open discussions, whilst adhering to relevant risk assessments. 

Essential criteria

  • Qualified and experienced Freedom Facilitator
  • Experience of working in a professional environment with survivors who have experienced domestic abuse
  • Must have an understanding of risk assessments, safeguarding and safety planning
  • Must hold, or be willing to undertake, an enhanced DBS check

The Role

DAWN is a confidential, non-judgemental service for individuals who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse. DAWN’s ethos is to believe and empower victims, to validate feelings, to dispel myths around domestic abuse, and to enable individuals to make informed choices and decisions to facilitate change.

The purpose of the role is to work with those who have experienced or who are experiencing domestic abuse, providing face to face support within the community.

Essential criteria:

  • 2 years’ experience of working with those who have experienced domestic abuse
  • 2 years’ experience of providing one to one support to service users
  • Experience in working with groups
  • An understanding of court processes, both criminal and civil, affecting families
  • An understanding of the Freedom programme and peer support networks
